ONE MORE DAY UNTIL THE SCARIEST MONTH OF THE YEAR! …. Okay, two more days, technically, but #NaNoisComing, people. I don’t know whether I’m excited or terrified, to be honest…
“Look Lucas, I don’t have time for this! I have to get back inside to work, before my mom–”
Lucas kissed her again before she could finish the sentence, a bit more demandingly this time. This time when he drew back, she licked her lips, clearly thinking about her next sentence, which made him smirk.
“I thought you wanted to talk.”
The smirk turned into a genuine smile,
Lucas could hear Riley muttering as she stomped her way up the last few stairs, and smiled grimly. She had likely worked herself into a defensive snit, and planned to start yelling as soon as she saw him.
The best defense is a good offense, so he moved first, catching her as she stepped through the access door and maneuvering her so that her back met the wall with a surprised ‘oomph.’ He kept going,
Lucas tried to listen to Topanga’s advice. He truly, honestly did. And for a couple of days, it worked. Things returned back to normal briefly, and he was distracted by the increased school work load as the holidays and end of the quarter grew closer. Time also gave Lucas a bit of perspective and distance on the whole Riley/Maya situation, and how he was going to deal with it going forward.
